Ideas come from think tanks. 'Do not go into politics, Nobel Laureate in Economic Sciences Frederic A. Hayek advised. 'Focus instead on the world of ideas'. Ideas tend to filter through a hierarchy. They start in the realm of intellectuals. Through various outreach programs ideas begin to impact over people. Once the people have serious concern over the matters that interferes the liberty the goal of the think tank is attained and the policies are ripe to reform. LGNepal works with scholarly researches and encourages solutions to the well-defined problems.
Ideas have Power…Ideas Need Discussions…Ideas have Consequences...
LGNepal is headquartered in South Asia's Regional Hub Kathmandu as a tax-exempt, an independent, non-profit public policy think tank, dedicated to preserving and strengthening the foundations of economic and political freedom. LGNepal's purposes are educational and intellectual. It does not, therefore, engage in politics or political action of any kind.
The organization is named for reflecting one of the freedom ideals that helped lay the philosophical foundation of the Liberty. We believe in the free market of ideas, the free flow of capital, a limited and efficient government, the rule of law and individual sovereignty. These are the ideas which, throughout history, have proven themselves to be most dynamic, liberating and exciting. Our researchers apply these ideas to the public policy questions which matter today. By the close study of public policy, we can recommend the best path for our politicians, policy makers and businesses to take.
We differ with the advocacy groups. We try to assemble ourselves as an incubator of new ideas; rather than serving as atrium for established ideas. |

Our Philosophy
Our motto is people's liberty is far more important. We want a society in which free market principles governing voluntary exchanges coordinated by rule of law and protected private property.
Vision
In order for this vision to be realized, we believe that four fundamental tenets must be present within civil society: a strong rule of law, respect for private property, an independent judiciary and voluntary exchange within the marketplace. |
